I was walking through an alley with my friends, taking their photos randomly. Suddenly I came across this dead tree-trunk. The speck of life in it inspired me to capture this image. It was a sunny summer day. I took the light reading from the leaves and underexposed the overall image. Postprocessing: Slightly cropped. No digital manipulation was done. Just changed the white balance while converting from RAW to JPEG.
I am Fahim Hassan and this is my personal website. I was born and raised in Bangladesh – one of the most environmentally vulnerable countries on the planet. Since my childhood, I enjoyed spending time on understanding the natural environment surrounding us. As a graduate student in economics, my academic research focuses on environmental vulnerability, sustainable energy and biodiversity. I also work as a documentary photographer and use my images to raise awareness among people.
